Alder Bay Resort RV Park in Port McNeill British Columbia
For those of you traveling to Vancouver Island and heading to the northern section, then you simply must make a point of camping at Alder Bay Resort. Situated in the north of the island between the communities of Telegraph Cove to the south and Port McNeill to the north, lies one of the most picturesque camping destinations you will ever come across.
Beautiful peaceful waterfront camping on the west coast of Canada!
Alder Bay Camping and Fishing Resort
Many people flock to this part of Canada’s beautiful west coast each year to fish the waters for salmon and halibut. Alder Bay Resort is equipped with a boat launch and dock facilities right on site, making a perfect one stop destination for campers and fisherman!
For us and many others, it’s a chance to escape from the city and enjoy Vancouver Islands peaceful North Country, with stunning scenery thrown in! The sunsets are beautiful and the evenings are so quiet and peaceful, one begins to thinks they have lost their hearing!
Enjoy Stunning Views and Cruise Ships Passing By
In the late spring and summer, cruise ships often pass on their way to and from Alaska and the Inside Passage. They pass by the channel so close, giving you a beautiful view of the ship. During our stay, we were lucky enough to catch a Disney Cruise Ship passing by.
They even blew a Disney tune for us to say hi as they were passing! 🙂 The cruise ship passes by so close in the channel, you can wave at the passengers enjoying their Cruise Vacation. 🙂
Below, check out my quick video showing the Disney Ship sailing by!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely family operated resort and can’t wait to return next season. The park is central to Telegraph Cove, a beautiful historic fishing community now a very popular tourist destination.
As well as the small communities of Port McNeill and Port Hardy are located just to the north of Alder Bay.
